Victoria & Nana 2

Victoria Cowper, CAWA. Executive Director

Having spent most of my career with non-profit organizations, I moved to animal welfare 17 years ago. The opportunity to work in a sheltering environment gives you new insight to the compassion and generosity of the community. Strengthening the bond between the two legged and four, with unconditional surrender and support proves that companion animals enrich our lives. [email protected]

MarleneMarlene Miles – Adoption Center Director

Saving lives is why I work at FAR. I am honored to work with a variety of amazing, influential and dedicated people that are committed to the safety, love and well-being of unwanted companion pets. Part of my service to FAR is opening my home to help the shy, scared, confused dogs and watch them bloom. Each adopted pet leaves a small paw print on my heart. Team member since 2011. GwenGwen Ware- Rescue Placement Coordinator

I started with FAR as a foster then volunteered at adoption events, now 3 years later as an employee, I still enjoy everything I do. My job is very rewarding with lots of kisses and true animal appreciation. My family and I have fostered over 75 animals in the past 3 years. Each relationship is special and can be heartbreaking but I know that each puppy or kitten is going to a loving family. I love that I am helping those animals that have no place to call home. Team member since 2012.

DebiDebi Miller – Animal Care Technician

I started volunteering with FAR in 2010 in hopes of providing a loving touch and caring smile to each of our homeless animals. I have met a wonderful group of volunteers and staff who have the same passion and make it possible to find loving homes for our cats and dogs. At the end of my shift, I give an extra hug to those that are most in need. Team member since 2011.

Headshot-Vivian-2Vivian Barnes- Customer Experience Manager

After volunteering at Foothills Animal Rescue for 3 years, I was thrilled to become a member of this dedicated team of compassionate animal lovers. It is a joy to see our 4 legged fur-babies find forever homes. The perks of free kisses and wags make everyday a great one. [email protected]

Resale Boutique Managers

Dixie Melkus

Newly retired, I spotted an article in the newspaper about the new Foothills Animal Rescue Boutique opening soon and seeking volunteers. That was in 2010 and in 2013 I became a team member.  Every day is an adventure in the shop supported by unique and wonderful donations from the community, an outstanding volunteer staff and the loyal customers that we have.  We share the joy that a new pet brings to their new family, meet many of our customers special friends and give an opportunity to many who are unable to adopt but believe in the rescue community and support us with their shopping and their donations.
