As a non-profit organization, Foothills Animal Rescue (FAR) relies on our helpful volunteers who perform a variety of support services including assistance with FAR’s weekly adoption activities, reception, providing foster homes for animals awaiting adoption, and the daily care of our animals and facilities.
We also have an ongoing need for volunteers to help with our Resale Boutique where 100% of the proceeds goes directly to the care of our rescued animals.
We offer volunteer opportunities to people 16 and above. If you are a young person (under 18 years old) and would like to volunteer, please note that we will need a permission form signed by your parent. We do have other programs that young people 16 or below can be involved in such as raising funds, doing a supply drive or helping to promote an animal for adoption through their social groups. We do not have a community service program available.
All new volunteers must attend our orientation and training classes prior to starting your tenure here at Foothills. Please make note of the upcoming training dates:
NEW VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION AND ANIMAL CARE TRAINING

If you’d like to help out by generously offering your time, here is more information on how you can do so:
- Volunteer at the Foothills Animal Rescue Shelter

- Volunteer at Foothills Animal Rescue Events
- Become an Adoption Counselor
- Join the Foothills Animal Rescue Foster Program
For shelter activities, use our Volgistics program to schedule your volunteer time for shelter activities. This should be done 3 days prior to your scheduled date and will allow the shelter team to plan accordingly.
Current volunteers can access the schedule and enter your hours on your time sheet by Clicking Here
All boutique volunteers will confer with Lisa Morgan and Dixie Lee Melkus, Store Managers, for their schedule.
We cannot do it without your help and appreciate the time you give to our furry friends!
