Adopt a Cat

Are you ready to take home a lovable little ball of fur? All of our cats have received a medical examination, spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, a microchip and a whole lot of tender loving care. Have a look at our adoptable cats.

Cats with the designation FeLV+ suffer from Feline Leukemia Virus and have special needs. Some cats that are FeLV positive do not suffer any symptoms at all but are latent carriers.  This virus  may cause serious illnesses such as anemia and lymphoma, and can compromise a cat’s immune system.  The life expectancy of an FeLV+ cat depends on many factors but the good news is that many live a long life if they’re kept healthy and cared for.

Adopt a Dog

There’s a reason they say dogs are man’s (and woman’s) best friend. Dogs make trusting, loyal companions that are always there for you. Here are dogs available for adoption today that are waiting for a caring home to call their own.

Each dog has received a basic medical examination, spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, a microchip and plenty of TLC (tender loving care). They’re all ready to take home today!

Adoption Process

Step 1 – Submit Online or Print and fill out an Adoption Application to bring with you when you visit or complete an Online Adoption Application from the comforts of your computer.

Step 2 – Visit the Foothills Animal Rescue Shelter and Adoption Center to meet with the cat or dog that you may be interested in. An Adoption Counselor will help you, as the potential adopter, select the right pet based on the family, lifestyle, activity level (people and animal), living situation, etc

Step 3 – Take time to visit with the preferred pet.   We want to make sure that each adoption is the best fit for each individual family, for this reason, some of our dogs may need a family or dog introductions. We can also set up a home visit if that will help to smooth the transition to adoption.

8 months or younger – $200

9 months to 6 years old – $175

6 years or older – $125

FELV+ cats are free thanks to the generosity of our donors. If you want to adopt a cat Phoenix with special needs, you still need to fill out the proper paperwork and go through the application process.
