Lost a Pet?

Have you lost your pet -- or perhaps you've found someone's treasured furry friend.  Now what do you do?

A good place to start is at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control's (AC&C) Pets911 website pets911.com

Pets911 is the local "lost and found"  web site for pets in the Valley.

Other things to do include:

POST FLYERS
(a sample flyer is provided by AC&C on their web site)
http://www.maricopa.gov/pets/lost_pets.asp   Post your flyers in the immediate area where the pet was lost or found, at local grocery, drug and convenience stores, gas stations, the Post Office and anywhere there is a public bulletin board.  Check with your local schools to see if you can post a flyer there as well.

CHECK WITH your neighbors, your mail carrier and your paper delivery person to see if they have seen your pet -- or recognize the pet you have found.

PLACE AN AD IN YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER
In most cases, your ad will be free if you have found a pet; you will probably have to pay to place an ad for your lost pet.

CALL
your local veterinarians and veterinary hospitals to see if your pet has been injured and turned in for care.
